Technological adoption in companies generates as many challenges as opportunities

March 10, 2020 Be relevant

Although the challenge of reinventing companies in the digital age can be overwhelming, one should not run away or bow one's head. Digital transformation and adaptation to technological advances are a necessity for all companies that want to evolve alongside their current and future customers, so as not to be left behind.. Even, according to the 'Cisco Designed for Business' portfolio from November 2019, SMEs represent the 44% of total IT investment globally, a figure that cannot leave out companies of this type in Latin America.

That is why it is important to know or be able to advise yourself when acquiring tools of this type, which, in turn, help to enhance all the strengths of the business and go hand in hand with the different organizational strategies. However, if the strength or expertise of the organization goes hand in hand with this need, it will always be convenient to have strategic allies who master the subject or outsource.

Adapting to technological changes offers the possibility of anticipating user trends and needs, but without ceasing to listen at all times to what they are always telling us, since they are a valuable and endless source of information. So this is a challenging move that opens new paths, which seeks to connect, compete, exchange and collaborate in the development and acquisition of new technologies, and in our case, it is an option that allows us to support entrepreneurs in the management and administration of risks and opportunities, in addition to leading us to offer digital solutions that are relevant and provide efficient and timely improvements to the processes.

An example of the importance of incorporating technology It is the cloud, which is the core of all technologies and is just a click away., allowing data and programs to be stored and accessed over the Internet.

Innovate through technology

Technological changes are facilitating the emergence and implementation of specialized services and differentiated offers, focused on satisfying customer needs.

Digital transformation, for its part, allows for increased competitiveness and promotion to the best positions in each sector, since those who innovate in this field are in a better position to face positive and negative changes, from a position of improving production processes and customer service, strengths that tend to improve reputation.

While many small and medium-sized businesses still believe that technological advances are a “luxury,” partly because of costs, others even feel that investment in these areas does not have a major impact on issues such as productivity and growth. This does not mean that small and medium-sized businesses do not have the challenge of making technology a competitive advantage and a market differentiator compared to their competitors.

Figures to keep in mind

According to estimates by the International Data Corporation (IDC), the IT industry in Latin America will grow from 1.3% in 2019 to 4.8% in 2020. Furthermore, by 2024, more than 40% of all information and communications technology (ICT) spending will go directly to digital transformation and innovation (compared to 20% in 2018), growing at a CAGR of 22%. By 2022, more than half of companies in Latin America will integrate cloud management across their public and private clouds by implementing hybrid or multi-cloud unified management technologies, tools and processes.
