According to World Health Organization, viruses can survive for several hours on surfaces that have been contaminated by infected people. For this reason, It is essential that you not only maintain rigorous hygiene of yourself, but also of your belongings, including the vehicle in which you travel.

Although you don't have to disinfect your car rigorously every time you wash it, you should do so after transporting someone with suspected symptoms of an infection, or if you know that the surface of your vehicle has been in contact with some agent that is harmful to health. Additionally, if you have decided not to take your car out for a long period of days, it is recommended that you take some time to clean it.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, solutions with at least 70% isopropyl alcohol are effective at killing viruses and disinfecting. That's why this liquid is essential when cleaning the interior of your vehicle (especially if you use it frequently and transport other people), since some car wash detergents, glass cleaners and silicone sprays are not made to eliminate infectious agents that can affect your health.
