Our home is the place where we spend most of our time now. That's why it's important to keep it clean. But, although during the day we spend time in different parts of our homes, the bedroom is undoubtedly one of the places where we spend the most time, including our nighttime rest hours.

The following are some tips and tricks that will make you enjoy the task of keeping one of our favorite places in the home tidy and clean.

1. The first task of the day. Don't leave your bedroom without making your bed first. This will be the first achievement of the day, it will make your room look tidy and it will avoid a common temptation in the mornings: getting back into the covers.

2. Keep your bed clear. Once you've hung it, avoid putting clothes from the previous day in it or filling it with items that would be better off on a desk or bookshelf. This will help maintain hygiene, as your room doesn't end up being the place where all the stuff you didn't put away ends up.

3. Wash sheets and blankets. It's the best time to keep up with every single cover and pillowcase you have on your bed. In addition to avoiding the buildup of some impurities, you'll sleep with a clean feeling that will make it easier for you to sleep comfortably.

4. The nightstand. Check what you have in it every morning and leave only what is necessary. This will help you avoid filling this space with items that you don't use or that you haven't brought into the kitchen.

5. Check your closet. While you're spending time at home, take the opportunity to organize your closet. Sort through your clothes: those you still wear, those that are still in good condition and no longer worn, and those that are damaged. Organize the second to donate and throw away the last.

6. Renew the air in your room. Every morning, when you start your day, open your window or door to let the air flow. This will help you feel like you are in a new environment and will help reduce the accumulation of some dust particles without affecting your health.

7. Wash your curtains regularly. Chances are your curtains will accumulate dust in no time. If you haven't lowered them or cleaned your blinds for a couple of weeks, it's possible that your room's hygiene isn't complete. Although it's not an easy activity, it is very necessary and will help keep your room free of impurities that could cause allergies.

8. What do I do with my desktop? If you also have a space in your room for work or study, make sure that it only has what is necessary: the cleaner it is, the more concentrated you will be when doing your work or academic activities. Do not leave dishes, clothes or excess books in it. Every time you are going to use it, remember to clean it to remove any impurities it may have.

9. Clean the floor. This recommendation is not just for your bedroom, however. Keeping your floor clean, perhaps with some air freshener of your choice, will make your room feel better. A little water with some detergent will remove any dirt and keep your space protected.

Good physical and mental health begins with having a clean and tidy home. Make an effort today to put everything in its place and you will see how your daily tasks will begin to flow better.
