Gentrification

Gentrification refers to the process by which the original population of a sector or neighborhood is affected and possibly displaced by new dynamics that alter the space in which they have developed. The growth of tourism, changes in land use planning in the city and the displacement of inhabitants from one place to another are some of the manifestations and consequences of this trend.
