There is no better way to talk about the future than through art. Artists are that shining light that invites us to stop and observe for a moment in a world that never stops. Because it is art that brings us back to earth again and again, to think and build a better life.
#CreatorsOfTheComingWorld is a digital contest in which emerging artists participate to make visible the issues that affect us: mobility, business competitiveness, habitability, health, life decisions and connectivity.
“The goal is to create a community of artists who converse with the trends and the future of the region and, through them, raise awareness about the changes that are to come,” he explains. Natalia Gallo, Brand Director at Seguros SURA Latin America.
The call began its first phase in March 2022 in Medellín, seeking to resonate with artists from institutions such as Pascual Bravo, Bellas Artes, Débora Arango and Salazar y Herrera, and who were part of the disciplines of literature, graphic design, space design, photography and audiovisual, painting, illustration and animation.
Each digital work was accompanied by a brief description detailing the context, purpose and message to be conveyed, reflecting the realities of the region.
More than 70 artists participated in this first stage, which lasted a month and a half. At the end of this period, each institution preselected its winning artists and finally, the curatorial team of asegura de Vivir SURA chose the four winners.
“Through this initiative, we seek expansive views that show us what the world will be like according to their art through a digital work. In the end, we will see how each society is represented, how they are experiencing their current situation: inequalities, conflicts, but also faith and resilience, that permanent commitment to what is to come that so characterizes our region,” added Gallo.
The winners of the contest spoke with Make sure you live, in a space where they were able to share the behind the scenes of their works and delve into the message they want to leave to the world.
